WILKES-BARRE, PA (March 26, 2023) -- In their first home match at Kirby Park for the spring 2023 season, the King's College women's tennis team fell, 9-0, to the visiting Lebanon Valley College on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Monarchs drop to 0-5 overall, while the Dutchmen improve to 6-3.

Singles action saw
Ashley Kenia fall 6-4 and 6-0 in No. 1 play to Sarah Kramer, while
Hailey D'Amato was downed by a pair of 6-1 sets to Livia Jackson at No. 2 singles. The No. 3 singles bout saw
Jackie Costello drop sets of 6-2 and 6-1 to Meredith Haas, and
Braelan Drollas fell by matching 6-0 sets at No. 4 singles to Eliana Shenk. Rounding out singles play was
Payton Lloyd who fell at No. 5 singles to Madison Poladian, 6-0 and 6-3, and
Emma Rooney who dropped a pair of 6-0 sets in No. 6 singles action to Abbie Hoffer.

Doubles play saw Kenia and D'Amato downed 8-2 at No. 1 doubles to the Dutchmen, while Costello and Drollas fell, 8-3, to the Lebanon Valley team at No. 2 doubles. The Monarchs pair of Lloyd and Rooney battled before falling, 8-6, in the No. 3 doubles bout to the Dutchmen.

The Monarchs will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon as they host Clarks Summit University at 3:30 p.m. at Kirby Park.
