ORLANDO, FL (March 6, 2023) -- The King's College men's tennis team dropped both of their matches on Monday, falling 9-0 to Trine University in their morning contest before dropping a 7-2 decision to the University of Northwestern (MN) in the night cap.

vs. Trine – L, 0-9:
Doubles competition saw
Logan Gregory and
John Toussaint battle before falling 8-4 to the Trine pair at No. 1 singles, while both the No. 2 doubles pairing of
Patrick Pech and
Aidan Temple and the No. 3 doubles team of
Brendan Turowski and
Jacob Nelson both dropped 8-1 decisions to the Thunder.

In singles play,
Logan Gregory fell by set scores of 6-4 and 6-1 in No. 1 action to Andrew Spirrison, while Joh Toussaint posted losses of 6-3 and 6-0 to Cole Goodman at No. 2 singles. The No. 3 singles match up saw
Patrick Pech drop sets of 6-1 and 6-2 to Elijah Schilthuis.

No. 4 singles play featured
Aidan Temple as he lost by matching scores of 6-1 to Aaron Streit. The No. 5 match up had
Brendan Turowski drop sets of 6-0 and 6-1 to Drew Dixon, while
Jacob Nelson rounded out play at No. 6 singles with matching 6-1 losses to Caleb Morris.

vs. Northwestern (MN) – L, 2-7:
King's picked up their first win in No. 1 doubles as Gregory and Toussaint posted a sold 8-4 win over the Eagles pair. No. 2 doubles play saw Pech and Temple drop a tough 8-6 decision, while the No. 3 doubles match was a nailbiter as Turowski and Nelson battled to an 8-7 (7-5) loss to the Eagles.

Toussaint picked up the lone win in the singles pairings at No.2 singles, defeating Jacob Weddle by scores of 6-4 and 6-3. Elsewhere in singles play, Gregory was downed by matching 6-0 sets to Stew Nowell, while Pech fell in mirroring 6-1 sets at No. 3 singles to Davis Pfaff.

The No. 4 singles match saw Temple fall by scores of 6-1 and 6-0 to Griffin Jackow, and No. 5 singles play featured matching 6-2 losses from Turowski by the hand of Devin Rupp. The final singles pairing saw Nelson downed by 6-1 sets to Andy Stevenson in No. 6 singles play.
