ORLANDO, FL (March 8, 2023) -- The King's College men's tennis team will return home off a big team win, defeating Wentworth Institute of Technology, 6-3, on Wednesday morning at Orlando's Oak Street Park Community Center. The Monarchs wrap up their spring training trip with a 2-3 overall record.

Logan Gregory and
John Toussaint battled it out in No. 1 doubles action before defeating the Leopards pair, 8-7 and 10-8 in the tiebreaker. The No. 2 doubles team of
Patrick Pech and
Aidan Temple also came out victorious in doubles action with a gritty 8-5 win over Wentworth's team, but the Leopards would take one at No. 3 doubles by an 8-6 decision over
Brendan Turowski and
Jacob Nelson.

King's got a win at No. 2 singles as
John Toussaint battled to win set one, 7-5, before dropping the second set by a score of 4-6. Toussaint rallied in the third to defeat Marwaha of Wentworth. Pech also earned a win at No. 3 singles by matching sets of 6-3 over Rodriguez, while Turowski picked up wins by sets of 6-3 and 61- over Kot at No. 5 singles. The final win of the match came at No. 6 singles as Nelson posted set wins of 6-1 and 6-2 over Shields.

Gregory went toe-to-toe with Gallegos at No. 1 singles, but after falling 6-3 in set one, Gregory withdrew the match. Temple competed at No. 4 singles for the Monarchs but fell, 6-3 and 6-1, to Doraci as the Monarchs posted the 6-3 final to defeat Wentworth Institute of Technology on Wednesday.

The Monarchs will travel back north and prepare to take on the remainder of their 2023 schedule. King's opens play on Sunday, March 19 as they host Susquehanna University at 1:00 p.m. at Kirby Park.
