EDWARDSVILLE, PA (April 12, 2023) --
Hailey D'Amato picked up two out of the three wins for the King's College women's tennis team in a 6-3 loss to cross-town rival Wilkes University in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play on Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, the Monarchs fall to 4-8 overall and 1-3 in the MAC Freedom, while the Colonels improve to 4-4 with a 3-1 conference mark.

D'Amato teamed up with
Ashley Kenia to earn a hard-fought 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles over the Colonels pair before posting set wins of 6-2 and 6-0 at No. 2 singles over Zoe Klein.
Payton Lloyd earned the third win in the match for the Monarchs as she battled with Sydney Farmer at No. 5 singles to win the opening set, 7-6, and pick up the win by forfeit.

The No. 2 doubles pair of
Jackie Costello and
Braelan Drollas fell, 8-3, to the Colonels, while Lloyd and
Emma Rooney dropped an 8-1 decision to Wilkes at No. 3 doubles.

Singles action saw Kenia downed by a pair of 6-1 sets to Tea Amerise at No. 1 singles, while Costello fell, 6-0 and 6-2, to Cassidy Greenman at No. 2 singles. The No. 3 singles match saw Drollas drop sets of 6-3 and 6-0 to Kaitlyn O'Neil, while the match concluded with Rooney falling at No. 6 singles, 6-2 and 6-0, to Karlee Yuscavage.

King's will have a quick turn around as they return to Kirby Park tomorrow afternoon to host DeSales University. The MAC Freedom match is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
