WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 19, 2023) -- The King's College men's tennis team picked up a sweep over Lycoming College, 9-0, in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) match on Wednesday afternoon at Kirby Park to keep their playoff hopes alive. With the win, the Monarchs improve to 10-7 overall and 3-3 in the conference, while the Warriors drop to 5-8 with a 3-3 conference mark.

Doubles play saw the No. 1 pair of
Logan Gregory and
John Toussaint post an 8-2 win over the Warriors pair, while
Patrick Pech and
Aidan Temple toughed out a gritty 8-6 win in the No. 2 doubles match. Doubles play concluded as
Nick Harth and
Brendan Turowski earned the win at No. 3 doubles, 8-4, over Lycoming.

In singles action, Gregory posted a pair of 6-2 sets over Nathan Redell at No. 1 singles, while Toussaint posted wins of 6-2 and 6-0 at No. 2 singles over Luke Leach. Pech was strong in the No. 3 singles match as he handed Jason Anderson set losses of 6-1 and 6-2, while
Nick Harth picked up a pair of 6-3 sets of Connor Albaugh in the No. 4 singles contest.
Aidan Temple was victorious at No. 5 singles, 6-2 and 6-1, over Dominick Young, while Turowski rounded out the sweep with a pair of 6-0 set wins in the No. 6 singles match over Josh Neidert.

The Monarchs will look to control their own destiny on Friday afternoon as they take on Arcadia University in the MAC Freedom match. Action is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. in Glenside, Pa.
