GLENSIDE, PA (April 21, 2023) -- The King's College women's tennis team dropped their regular-season Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) match at Arcadia University on Friday afternoon, falling 7-2 to the Knights on the road. With the setback, the Monarchs drop to 5-12 overall and 2-5 in the conference standings, while the Knights improve to 4-7 with a 2-3 MAC Freedom mark.

Ashley Kenia won the No. 1 singles match over Savannah Falk by scores of 6-3 and 6-, while
Hailey D'Amato picked up set wins of 6-2 and 6-3 over Karolina Iordache. in the No. 2 singles contest.

Doubles play went to the Knights as Kenia and D'Amato at No. 1 doubles and
Jackie Costello and
Braelan Drollas at No. 2 doubles fell by a score of 8-4 to the Knights pairs.
Payton Lloyd and
Emma Rooney were downed by a score of 8-1 to round out the doubles matches.

Costello went toe-to-toe with Kate Wyszkowski at No. 3 singles before falling, 7-6 (2) and 7-5, while Drollas dropped a pair of 6-2 sets to Gertride Jeack. Lloyd fell after battling to a 7-6 (2) decision in the opener and by a decision of 6-2 in the second in the No. 5 singles contest to Link Bertrand, while Rooney was downed, 6-0 and 6-2, by Leah Hatcher at No. 6 singles.

King's will be back in action on Sunday afternoon as they are set to host Susquehanna University at Kirby Park. The non-conference match is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
