NORTH BERGEN, NJ (April 25, 2023) -- In the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) Semifinal match, the #4 seeded King's College men's tennis team fell, 5-0, to the #1 seed Stevens Institute of Technology on Tuesday afternoon at Braddock Park. With the setback, the Monarchs drop to 12-8, while the Ducks improve to 13-6 and head to the MAC Freedom finals on Saturday.

The doubles matches went to the Ducks as
Logan Gregory and
John Toussaint fell by an 8-3 decision in No. 1 doubles play, while
Patrick Pech and
Aidan Temple dropped an 8-0 score in the No. 2 doubles match to Stevens. The No. 3 doubles pairing saw
Brendan Turowski and
Jacob Nelson downed, 8-0.

In singles play,
Aidan Temple fell by sets of 6-1 and 6-0 to Sebastian Wroe at No. 4 singles, while
Jacob Nelson dropped a pair of 6-0 sets in the No. 6 singles match to Troy Zhang to secure the win for Stevens.

The remainder of the singles matches went unfinished as the Ducks had secured the win. No. 1 singles action saw Gregory fall, 6-1, in the opening set and trail 1-0 at the conclusion of the match to Aashi Kulakarni, while Toussaint was downed, 6-1 and faced a 2-1 deficit in the second, at No. 2 singles to Vivek Harinarayan. Pech was shutout, 6-0 in set one and was battling with Max-William Kanz in the second set of the No. 3 singles match, 3-2, while the No. 5 singles match saw Turowski fall, 6-0, and trail, 3-0, to Matt Luzzi at the conclusion of the match.

The Monarchs will wrap up their 2023 season tomorrow afternoon as they travel out to Williamsport, Pa. to take on Penn College in a non-conference match at 2:00 p.m.
