GLENSIDE, PA (April 26, 2023) -- Senior goalkeeper
Matt Wall collected a career-high 12 ground balls in the King's College men's lacrosse team's setback at Arcadia University on Wednesday evening in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play. With the loss, the Monarchs stand at 0-13 overall and 0-7 in the MAC Freedom, while the Knights improve to 7-8 with a 6-1 conference mark.

The host Arcadia (7-8, 6-1 MAC Freedom) jumped out to an early 8-1 lead after the opening quarter despite a goal from
Ben Spencer off an assist from
Zach Webb with 8:03 left in the period. The Knights would continue their strong start, while King's (0-13, 0-7 MAC Freedom) got a tally from
Nate Hullinger on a great find from
Ryan Barnes just 1:32 into the second, but the Monarchs faced a 15-2 deficit heading into the break.

King's would outscore Arcadia, 2-1 in the third. The Knights put up the first goal of the half, but the Monarchs strung together the next three goals stretching to the 13:19 mark of the third.
EJ Schreiner scored a pair of unassisted goals at the 9:56 and 6:29 marks of the third before starting the fourth strong behind a
Ryan Lynch goal with 13:19 remaining. The Knights would take over down the stretch before posting the 21-5 final in Glenside, Pa.

Schreiner led King's with two points on a pair of goals with five ground balls and two caused turnovers, while Lynch collected a point with a team-high 11 shots.
Geno Casciello went 9-for-18 in face offs with five ground balls, while
Redmond Cahill picked up five face off wins for the Monarchs.
Ryan Dolphin paced the defense with three caused turnovers, while Wall made 14 saves to go with a team- and career-high 12 ground balls.

Arcadia was led by Brain Albertsen with seven points on six goals and an assist with a team-leading eight shots. Brett Sciascia collected a team-best seven ground balls while going 12-for-16 in face offs, while Nathaniel Hudgins totaled four saves and a win in goal in the first half for the Knights.

As a team, the Monarchs put up 39 shots with 20 on target, while the defense forced 22 turnovers and made 14 saves. Additionally, King's was efficient as they went 16-for-18 in clear attempts while picking up 44 ground balls and winning 14 face offs.

The Monarchs will conclude their 2023 season on Saturday afternoon as they host cross-town rival Wilkes University in their MAC Freedom finale. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. in McCarthy Stadium, and the Monarchs will honor their seniors prior to the contest.
