GLENSIDE, PA (April 5, 2023) -- In their 2023 season finale, the King's College men's volleyball team fell, 3-0, to the host Arcadia University in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) match. With the loss, the Monarchs fall to 20-7 overall and 4-5 in the MAC, while the Knights improve to 17-8 and 7-1 in the conference standings.
 
Arcadia (17-8, 7-1 MAC) stormed out of the gates on their home court, taking an early 20-10 advantage over the Monarchs as King's (20-7, 4-5 MAC) fell, 25-14, in the opening set.
 
The Knights opened the second on a 6-0 run, but the Monarchs rallied to battle within two, 17-15, on an ace from Jared Piontkowski. The host would edge out King's down the stretch, 8-4, as the Monarchs would drop the set, 25-19, and trail 2-0 in the match.
 
King's found momentum to start the third, holding an early 4-1 advantage, but with the Monarchs leading 8-7, Arcadia opened the scoring with a 9-1 rally to see King's facing a 16-9 deficit. The Monarchs closed within three, 20-17, on another ace from Piontkowski, but the comeback effort would fall short with a 25-19 loss in the third to fall, 3-0, in the match.
 
Piontkowski led King's with seven kills, four digs, three aces, and two blocks, while Owen McFadden added five kills, Joe Herman and Nick Greenawalt each posted four kills to round out the top offensive performances in the loss. Additionally, Ben Maskiell dished out 13 assists with two aces for the Monarchs.
 
Amadeus Cannon paced Arcadia with 11 kills on 13 attempts, hitting .769, with three blocks, while Vaughn McConnell totaled 36 assists with six digs.
 
As a team, the Monarchs totaled 22 kills off 20 assists, adding 12 digs, five aces, and three blocks.
