GREENSBORO, NC (May 30, 2023) -- After the holiday weekend, the 2023 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. III All-Region teams and Regional Players of the Year have been announced in all 10 regions. Among the honorees from Region 4 was King's College junior Chase Yochem who collects All-Region 4 Second Team honors as an outfielder.

This marks the first All-Region award in Yochem's career, while the junior is also the first Monarch baseball player to be recognized on the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region team since Dan Hartson earned the nod in 2018.

The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America Committee. The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and now includes nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007.

Yochem was a force in the MAC Freedom this season, ranking among the top five in the conference in hits (59), batting average (.417), slugging percentage (.629), OPS (1.105), doubles (13), and home runs (6). Another stellar season saw the Pittston, Pa. native pick up his second consecutive All-MAC Freedom Second Team honors, while also being named MAC Freedom Player of the Week to start the 2023 season. He surpassed the 100-hit milestone for his career with the Monarchs win over Penn State Hazleton on April 23, while Yochem recorded a hit in 31 out of the 37 games this season with 20 multi-hit games.
