WILLIAMSPORT, PA (January 27, 2024) -- The King's College wrestling team drops to #25 Lycoming Warriors (10-2) 6-36 Saturday afternoon. The Monarchs are even on the season with a 3-3 record following their contest in Lamade Gymnasium.
 
Patrick Horvath started the afternoon matchup in the 125-weight division and took a 9-1 major decision loss to Kaden Majcher. Quinn O'Callahan (Fy.) fell to Thomas Conselyea in 1:49 at the 133-weight class. At 141, Noah Clawson (Jr.) rallied King's with a 7-3 decision win against Cooper Gilham. Martin Turi (Fy) maintained the momentum by celebrating a 6-4 decision victory at 149 to put the Monarchs within four. Bret Murphy (Jr.) suffered a 7-1 decision loss to Wiley Kahler at 157.
 
At 165, Xavian Ramos (So.) lasted three periods with Chase Chapman but ultimately was defeated in in a 15-1 major decision. Connor Wrobleski (So.) was bested in the 174-weight class by Eli Crum in a 12-3 major decision. Jacob Hatchmann (Fy.) fought hard against James Ellis in the 184 bout but was pinned in 6:06. At 197, Rich Fronheiser (Jr.) fell to Gable Crebs in 2:19. In the final contest of the afternoon, Bill Grace (Gr.) dropped to Robbie West in a heavy weight battle and ended with a 7-3 decision.
 
King's participated in five exhibition matches. Hugh Bittenbender (So.) at 141 had a 13-4 major decision win over Kyle Haverstick. Aidan Shaughnessy (So.) dropped Shane Perry in 2:35 at 141. Nick Germano (Jr.) polished off a 12-1 major decision victory in the 141-weight class against Avery Rosan. At 165, Alex Ballantyne (So.) fell to Wyatt Frawley in 0:24. Josh Brown (Fy.) pestered Ivan Neal but took a 22-6 technical fall in the 197-weight division.  
 
The Monarchs are back in McGrane Gymnasium at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 1^st to battle against the Centenary Cyclones (NJ). The squad will have a short turnaround as they will compete in a tri-meet with York and Johns Hopkins on Saturday, February 3^rd with a scheduled time of 1 p.m.
