CENTER VALLEY, PA (January 31, 2024) -- On the road on Wednesday evening, the King's College men's basketball team fell by a score of 86-46 to #22 DeSales University in Billera Hall in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play. With the setback, the Monarchs fall to 11-9 overall and 3-6 in the conference, while the Bulldogs improve to 18-2 and an undefeated 9-0 conference mark.

Chris Patton scored six of the Monarchs first eight points over the first 4:34 of action as King's (11-9, 3-6 MAC Freedom) trailed, 9-8, but the veteran-heavy DeSales (18-2, 9-0 MAC Freedom) shifted the momentum and out scored the Monarchs 39-10 down the stretch as King's faced a 48-18 halftime deficit. The Bulldogs, who shot an impressive 53.3% from the floor in the win, did not look back in the second half on their way to the 86-46 final in Billera Hall on Wednesday evening.

Patton led the Monarchs with nine points, adding a block, while
Devin Kimmick tallied seven points with two rebounds.
Conner Griffin came off the bench to add six points, two boards, and a block, while
Jake Karnish,
Ray Gooley, and
Darren Yost all dished out two assists. Additionally,
Eamonn Walsh,
Patrick Bennie,
Sean Forrest, and Yost each grabbed a team-high tying three rebounds.

Will Bown paced the Bulldogs with 14 points, while Caleb Gibbs had a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. Matt Ciszkowski also put in a double-double night, adding 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Mason Barnes dished out eight assists.

King's took care of the ball in the setback, committing just nine miscues, while the defense forced 15 by the Bulldogs which led to a 14-9 edge in points off turnovers.

The Monarchs will return to McGrane Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon as they host Arcadia University in MAC Freedom play at 3:00 p.m.
