WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 26, 2024) -- The King's College men's soccer team improves to 7-5-3, 2-2-1 MAC Freedom after beating FDU-Florham 2-1 on Saturday night at McCarthy Stadium. The Devils will move to 10-7-1, 0-5-0 MAC Freedom with the loss.
King's recorded 11 shots with six corner kicks within the first 40 minutes of play. In minute 41, junior midfielder
Philip Permyashkin set first-year forward
Anthony Ramirez up for a breakaway where he was able to place the ball right past the Devil's goalkeeper to put the Monarchs on the board. King's led FDU-Florham 1-0 going into halftime.
After a chippy start to the second half, yellow cards were issued to both King's first-year forward
Jackson Nuttall and FDU-Florham's first-year midfielder Landon San Martin in minute 61. An additional yellow card was issued to sophomore defender
CJ Anderson in the same minute, prompting a free kick for the Devils. Drilon Toska scored the equalizing goal with an assist from Genti Dauti. Head coach of the Monarchs Brandon Raynor received a yellow card following the goal. Â Â
In minute 85, superhero senior defender and captain
Nate Horn scored a header goal off an assist from Permyashkin to seal the deal for the Monarchs late in the game on senior day. This was Horn's first of the season and second career goal overall. Â

Ben VanValkenburg concluded the night with six saves, giving him 47 total saves on the season and amounting to a 0.825% save percentage.
King's is back in action on Tuesday, October 29 as they travel to Hoboken, NJ to take on Stevens at 7 p.m.
