WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 9, 2024) -- The King's College men's soccer team moves to 5-4-2 after beating Marywood 4-1 on Wednesday night at McCarthy Stadium. The Pacers now fall to 4-5-2.
Following a foul on Marywood's Jack Forbes in minute 23, junior midfielder
Philip Permyashkin scored his second goal of the season off an assist from junior defender
Luke Ferre to put the Monarchs on the board first. Through the remainder of the first 45 minutes, King's had four shots and corner kicks compared to Marywood's two. The Monarchs led 1-0 going into halftime.
Five minutes into the second half, Permyashkin crossed the ball over to sophomore defender
CJ Anderson, who put it right past the Marywood goalkeeper to extend the lead to 2-0. A yellow card was issued to Marywood's Jared Sanborn in minute 61, followed by a King's corner kick and an unassisted goal from senior midfielder
Shane Serio. Permyashkin received a yellow card in minute 73.
Marywood was awarded a corner kick in minute 76, after which Jayce Wilson would sneak the ball past King's first-year goalkeeper

Nathaniel Cook, making it 4-1.Through 90 minutes, King's outshot Marywood 13-5, shots on goal being 8-2. The 4-1 score stood as time expired.
King's is back in action this Saturday, October 12 as they take on Delaware Vallet at McCarthy Stadium at 1 p.m.
