Women's Swim Team is Bested by Lebanon Valley on Friday Night

WILKES-BARRE, PA (November 15, 2024) -- The King's College women's team fell to the Flying Dutchmen of Lebanon Valley 137-32 on Friday night in Scandlon Natatorium.
 
Esmeralda Romero and Lexi Nastanski were the first Monarchs to begin the individual events as they competed in the 200-yard freestyle. Romero clocked in at 3:27.85 and Nastanski did not score but timed in at 3:27.85 during the event. Mackenzie Huffer brought in a first place finish in the 50-yard freestyle at 28.49, while Makenna Unvarsky came in at 29.90 and Nastanski at 42.01. Unvarsky was right back to battle in the 200-yard IM and had a time of 2:57.89. Huffer was the lone contestant in the 100-yard butterfly and finished at 1:19.26.
 
Three members of the squad competed in the 100-yard freestyle; Romero came in at fourth with a time of 1:13.09, Huffer at 1:13.68, and Nastanski at 1:39.97. In the 100-yard backstroke, Romero timed in at 1:31.61. Unvarsky earned the third top spot in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:30.51.

In the team events, the relay unit that consisted of Romero, Unvarsky, Nastanski, and Huffer competed in the 200-yard freestyle relay and had a time of 2:15.45.
 
The Monarchs will have a week break before traveling to Scranton, PA for the annual Electric City Invitational that is hosted by Marywood from Friday, November 22nd to Sunday, November 24th. The next time the team will be back in the pool will be after the new year.
