CHESTER, PA (November 20, 2024) -- The King's College women's basketball team wrapped up a three-game road stretch on Wednesday night as they fell, 56-36, at Widener University in the Schwartz Center. The Monarchs drop to 2-2 overall, while the Pride improve to 2-2.

The opening possessions featured a pair of ties and lead changes with neither team leading by more than two scores, but with a 15-6 edge with 1:38 to go in the first, the host Widener (2-2) scored the final three points in the quarter to take an 18-9 edge after one. A low scoring and slow-paced second frame saw King's (2-2) trailing, 27-14, at the break.

The Pride continued to roll in the third, but King's put together a solid fourth-quarter effort to out score Widener, 16-14, before posting the 56-36 final in Chester on Wednesday night.

Gianna Dickson led the Monarchs with seven points and a steal, while
Lauren Casey had nine rebounds, six points, and three blocks.
Alli Lindsay added six points, three boards, and two times, and
Cadie Lewis collected six caroms to go along with two assists and two steals. Additionally,
Claire Aufiero came off the bench to add five points in the setback.

Widener was paced by Mia Robbins with 16 points, while Lindsay Kutz pulled down eight points with four steals.

King's had assists on all but four of their baskets in the contest and were just narrowly edged in the rebounding margin, 42-36. Inside the box score, the Monarchs had the advantage in second-chance points, 7-5, over Widener.

The Monarchs return to McGrane Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon as they are set to host Gwynedd Mercy University. Tip off in the non-conference match up is set for 1:00 p.m.
