OLIVET, MI (November 23, 2024) -- The King's College wrestling team evened at the Olivet Comet Duals on Saturday afternoon in the Cutler Event Center. The Monarchs defeated Alma College 32-15 and Heidelberg University 22-18. King's fell to the University of Olivet 44-3 and the University of Mount Union 40-15.

vs. Alma College, W – 32-15
In the first bout of the matchup against the Scots,
Cole Anderson defeated Jushawn Ferrel in a 16-3 major decision at 125.
Nick Germano followed with his own 11-0 major decision victory over Colton Kennedy at 133. In the 141-weight class,
Noah Clawson downed Jaymes Wildfong in 4:14. At 149,
Shane Kibler gained four points for the Monarchs as he earned a 15-5 major decision win against Joe Dawe.
MJ Turi dropped Vincent Provo early in the second period with a pin time of 3:26 for a 157-weight division win.

Alma got on the board during the 165 bout as Rodrik Love pinned
Bret Murphy in 3:40. King's got back on top with
Jacob Hachtmann celebrating a 21-9 technical fall win at 174 over Dekota Forgash. At 184,
Frankie Theroux polished off an 11-0 major decision win against Luke Martin. The Scots' Doug Morris outlasted
Richard Fronheiser at 197 with a 4-2 decision victory. In the heavyweight match,
Nick Valenzano fell to Brody Miskimon in 0:46, but that wasn't enough for Alma and King's won 32-15.

Cole Anderson stormed over Colin Heing for a 19-3 technical fall win at 125. The Student Princes' David Gelman outlasted
Nick Germano in overtime with an 11-8 decision in their 133 bout. At 141,
Noah Clawson bested Gibson in a 4-0 decision. Heidelberg regained the momentum with a 149 win as
Shane Kibler was defeated in a 5-0 decision against Tristan Craddock.
MJ Turi lost his 157 battle with Anthony Grecol in a 8-5 decision.

Bret Murphy in 2:06 at 165 to put the Student Princes ahead of the Monarchs 13-8. King's was not going to let it be easy for their opponents and
Jacob Hachtmann picked up a huge 22-6 technical fall win over Kyler Howard at 174.
Frankie Theroux battled Khelei Tillman at 184 and after three periods, he stood victorious with an 11-8 decision. At 197,
Richard Fronheiser entered overtime against Paul Wilson but came up short with a 17-16 loss. It was down to the heavyweight bout as the Monarchs had to win the match to secure the team victory.
Nick Valenzano celebrated a win by pinfall over Isaac Shively. The Monarchs won 22-18.

Cole Anderson lost his 125 bout to the hosts' Benyamin Kamali in a 21-6 technical fall. The Comets' Emmet Kettle defeated
Nick Germano in an 11-1 major decision at 133. In the 141-weight class,
Angel Avalos was pinned by Dylan Phelps in 0:20.
Shane Kibler lost by pinfall against Tyler Herrema in 2:11.
MJ Turi battled hard against Ramiro Guerrero but succumbed to a 7-3 decision loss at 157.

Alex Ballantyne was beaten by Juwan Vines in a 20-2 technical fall at 165. At 174, Olivet's Jay Shaull defeated
Jacob Hachtmann by pinfall in 2:13.
Jake Bobersky push through three rounds against Gideon Loewen but fell in an 8-1 decision.
Richard Fronheiser put the Monarchs on the board with 5-4 win over Jack Ward at 197. In the heavyweight match,
Nick Valenzano fell to Mason Knight in the second period with a pin time of 4:34. King's lost 44-3.

Cole Anderson had a medical forfeit loss to Mason Taylor at 125. In the 133- weight division,
Nick Germano was defeated by Nolan Fye in a 17-1 technical fall. At 141,
Angel Avalos fell to Mason McCarty in 2:09. The Purple Raiders' Carter Hill won by forfeit at 149.
MJ Turi dropped Hunter Newell in 1:53 for in the 157 matchup.

Jacob Hachtmann earned a 16-13 decision victory at 174 in his battle against Nathaniel Johnson.
Jake Bobersky won his 184 contest by pinning Brayden McFetridge in 2:18. Mount Union's Bryce McCloskey defeated
Richard Fronheiser by pinfall in 1:10 at 197. In the heavyweight division,
Nick Valenzano fell to Steven Marra in 1:15. King's lost to the Purple Raiders 40-15.

The Monarchs will attend the annual Messiah Petrofes Invitational from December 6
th-7
th after a two-week break following the holiday. The squad will host their first home meet on Saturday, December 14
th at 9:30 a.m. against Keystone, New Jersey City, Sussex Community College, and Alvernia.
