Pittston, PA (NOVEMBER 29, 2024) – The King's College women's ice hockey team fell 3-0 to the Falcons of Concordia University of Wisconsin Friday night at the Revolution Ice Centre. With the non-conference loss, the Monarchs move to 2-4-2, 2-2-2 in conference play as the Falcons improve to 8-2-0, 6-0-0.
The Falcons scored two out of three goals in the first period as Naomi Black put Concordia on the board at 4:01 off assists from Amanda Bauer and Mackaylan McGown and Scout Stromberg scored at 9:47 with an assist from Makayla Spejcher. Concordia's Olivia Kurtz received a body checking penalty at 15:33. The 2-0 score stood going into the first intermission.
In the second period,
Aspen Wallin received two back-to-back penalties, the first being for holding at 1:58 and the second for tripping at 7:16. Kurtz was penalized for holding at 18:14 with time carrying over into the third period. Natalie Mackrell was called for interference at 6:23. Bauer scored an unassisted, empty net goal to seal the deal for the Falcons at 18:41 to win 3-0.
In her first start of the season, junior goaltender
Hayley Packer concluded the night with 54 saves in net.
The Monarchs return to Revolution Ice Centre tomorrow at 3 p.m. for a rematch with the Falcons.
