Pittston, PA (NOVEMBER 30, 2024) – The King's College women's ice hockey team fell 10-0 to the Falcons of Concordia University of Wisconsin Saturday afternoon at the Revolution Ice Centre. With the non-conference loss, the Monarchs move to 2-5-2, 2-2-2 in conference play as the Falcons improve to 9-2-0, 6-0-0. Concordia's Makayla Spejcher scored four goals for the Falcons.
Three penalties occurred in the first period of play as
Sammi Stead was called for roughing at 9:59, Ava Litkey for interference at 17:10 and Scout Stromberg for tripping at 18:14 with time carrying into the second period. At 3:01 in the second, King's was penalized for having too many players on the ice.
Lucy Beal received a tripping penalty at 14:37.
Concordia goals were scored by Brooke Gibson (2), Naomi Black, Taylor Heleniak, Makayla Spejcher (4), Natalie Mackrell and Megan Vettraino. Gibson and Spejcher both scored on power plays.
Jordan Dittmar went 10-10 in faceoffs and junior goaltender
Hayley Packer recorded 18 saves before
Will McPherson replaced her halfway through the second period. McPherson posted 29 saves. Together, they totaled 47 saves on the night.
Next up, the Monarchs are set to travel to Hood College on Friday, Dec. 6 for a matchup with the Blazers. Puck drop is set for 3:15 p.m.
