MADISON, NJ (November 6, 2024) -- The King's College women's volleyball team picked up a 3-1 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom win on the road against the Devils of FDU-Florham on Wednesday night.

King's (18-10, 1-6 MAC Freedom) started off strong in Ferguson Recreation Center with a 4-1 run that included two kills by
Jessica Menze (Fy.). FDU-Florham (10-16, 1-6 MAC Freedom) answered right back with their own 5-1 push to steal the lead at 6-5. From then on, the first set went back-and-forth between the two MAC Freedom opponents with neither team gaining a lead larger than one. The score was even 21-21 when the Monarchs made a final 4-1 burst that included tallies by
Bella Salvia (Jr.), Menze,
Emma Bolich (So.), and
Morgan Williams (Jr.) to take the first set 25-22.

The Devils revolted with an 12-7 burst to have a five-point cushion against King's in the second set. Though the Monarchs began chipping away at their deficit and as they were down 16-12, the squad created a 9-2 jump to regain command. FDU-Florham would tack on three straight tallies, but King's had all the momentum and after a final kill by Bolich, the Monarchs won 25-22.

The third set started off like the second with King's down 8-5. The Monarchs had a 7-3 run to get back on top thanks to Bolich, Menze,
Theresa Lynch (Jr.), and Williams. The Devils were not going down without a fight and responded back with an 8-2 spurt to take the momentum away at 19-14. King's came right back to hand out a final 7-3 push before FDU-Florham stole the third set 25-21.

In the fourth and final set, the Monarchs had control to begin the round with kills by Menze, Salvia, Bolich,
Keely Hoban (Sr.), and
Riley McArdle (Fy.) to make it 11-7. The Devils would pester their visitors with six straight points, but King's maintained their composure. From then on, King's continued their pursuit and witnessed several tallies made by
Mia Campanile (Jr.), Menze, Bolich, Salvia, and Lynch down the stretch. FDU-Florham produced a final 3-1 run before Campanile iced the game with a kill to win 25-21.

The Monarchs finished with 49 kills, 43 assists, six aces, four blocks, and 78 digs. Hoban had a double-double with 36 helpers and 19 digs. Menze earned a season-high 14 kills with a hitting percentage of .333. Bolich was right behind with 11 kills and three blocks. On the defensive end, Williams set a standard of 23 digs to move to fifth overall in program history with a total of 1,277.

FDU-Florham ended with 56 kills, 50 assists, nine aces, five blocks, and 83 digs. Jada Everett collected a double-double of 12 kills and 22 digs. Lilli Nawrotzki also had a double-double with 27 assists and 10 digs. Meghan Kreinberg added her own 12 kills and Kiara Salme recorded 16 digs.
