Three Post Personal Best Marks at the Big Apple Invitational

STATEN ISLAND, NY (February 10, 2024) – Ava Butcher, Sophia Lukowski, and Anna Bellucci all recorded personal best marks in their events as the King's College women's indoor track and field team competed at the Big Apple Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon.
 
On the Track
60 Meter Dash

Abigail Springer was the top finisher for King's, crossing in 8.40 seconds, while Sophia Hahn posted a time of 8.51 seconds. Juliet Brady rounded out the Monarch runners in 8.59 seconds.
 
200 Meter Dash
Abigail Springer led the Monarchs again in the event, finishing in 28.08 seconds, while Juliet Brady was close behind in 28.18 seconds.
 
400 Meter Dash
Ava Butcher led a pair of Monarchs as she crossed in a new personal best time of 1:03.25, while Laura Dainauski recorded a time of 1:03.60.
 
60 Meter Hurdles
Victoria Zultevicz finished in 9.94 seconds in the event.
 
In the Field
High Jump

Madison Armitage tied for 16th overall among the 28 competitors as she cleared a height of 1.50 meters.
 
Long Jump
Madelynn Perfilio recorded a mark of 4.79 meters on her first attempt
 
Shot Put
Brandy Varner led a four Monarchs in the event with a toss of 11.16 meters on her second attempt to place 19th overall. Caitlin Kirk was next to place with a mark of 10.22 meters on her third throw, while Roni McClelland recorded a distance of 10.12 meters on her first toss. Sophia Lukowski rounded out the King's throwers with a personal best mark of 10.10 meters on her second toss.
 
Weight Throw
Anna Bellucci and Katey Shoemaker each finished in the top 20, as Bellucci placed 17th with a personal best throw of 13.69 meters on her second attempt and Shoemaker ranked 19th with a toss of 13.63 meters on her third throw. Caitlin Kirk rounded out the King's throwers with a personal best distance of 12.66 meters on her second attempt.

The Monarchs will be back in action for their final tune up ahead of the 2024 MAC Championships as they are set to compete in the Marc Deneault Invitational Hosted by Cornell University.
