SCRANTON, PA (February 10, 2024) -- The King's College wrestling team had an epic Saturday afternoon as they went 3-0 during the Scranton Duals at the John Long Center. The Monarchs (8-5) first took down the Hawks of Hunter (0-10) 54-3, then defeated the Royals of Scranton (7-7) 38-18. In the final match of the day, King's polished off a 53-3 victory over the Bulldogs of Bergen Community College (0-5).

Patrick Horvath (So.) pinned Michael Douglass in 4:00 at 125.
Cole Anderson (So.) at 133 was defeated in an 8-6 decision against Botensky Bauzile.
Nick Germano (Jr.) won by forfeit in the 141-weight class. At 149,
MJ Turi (Fy.) gained King's another six points as he dropped Elijah Parziale in 1:30.
Cameron Leslie (Sr.) continued the Monarchs' momentum by pinning Nicholas D'Erasmo in 4:57 at the 157-weight division.
At 165,
Xavian Ramos (So.) celebrated a pinfall victory over Therrol Lafayette in 1:28.
Connor Wrobleski (So.) notched off his fastest pin of the season in 0:30 against Hadi Rehman at 174.
Jacob Hachtmann (Fy.) took a forfeit win at 184.
Richard Fronheiser (Jr.) gained another win for King's at the 197-weight class dropping Alfredo Tapia in 0:44.
Bill Grace (Gr.) won by forfeit in the heavy weight bout. The Monarchs won 54-3.

At 125,
Patrick Horvath (So.) gained his second win of the day by extinguishing Joseph Capello in a 18-2 technical fall.
Cole Anderson (So.) fell to Matthew DiGennaro in 1:30 at 133.
Noah Clawson (Jr.) responded back with a 4:06 pinfall against Shkeb Nadir in the 141-weight division.
MJ Turi (Fy.) continued to push the edge as he pinned Kosta Mavrikidis at 149.
Bret Murphy (Jr.) competed in the 157-weight class and stood victorious in a 15-0 technical fall over Aidan Veirun.

Alex Ballantyne (So.) was bested by Jacob Burgette in a 17-0 technical fall at 165. Jeremiah Oakes downed
Connor Wrobleski (So.) in a 12-0 major decision during a 174 battle.
Jacob Hachtmann (Fy.) at 184 pinned Quinton Laughlin in 3:53  At 197,
Richard Fronheiser (Jr.) responded back with a 17-1 technical fall win over Jon Sklavounos.
Bill Grace (Gr.) delivered a 17-2 technical fall against Sean Cordaro in a heavy weight contest. The Monarchs won 38-15.

Quinn O'Callaghan (Fy.) fell to Kevin Cordero.
Nick Germano (Jr.) was dropped by Kevin McCarvill in 4:13 at 141. Jake Rudy defeated
Alex Ballantyne (So.) in a 22-6 technical fall at 165.
Taylor Burton (Fy.) lost in a 157 matchup against Dennis Nugra by pinfall at 3:40. At 133,
Aiden Shaughnessy (Fy.) pinned Orion Newell.

Patrick Horvath (So) at 125 and

Hugh Bittenbender (So.) lost his 141 contest in a 141 battle by an 11-10 decision against Brian Vargas.
MJ Turi (Fy.) pinned Sauzer Ayoub in 2:05 at 149.
Bret Murphy (Jr.) at 157 and
Alex Ballantyne (So.) at 165 won by forfeit in their respective weight classes.
Nick Costello (Fy.) stood victorious in a 174 bout against Joshua Alvarez by pinfall.
Jacob Hachtmann (Fy.) had a 20-4 technical fall win at 184 over Jaden Bedillo.
Elijah Rivera (Fy.) picked up a win against Matthews Marin at 197 and
Nick Valenzano (So.) beat Jayce Jacobs during the heavy weight matchup.

King's will be back home in McGrane Gymnasium on Thursday, February 15
th at 7 p.m. to take on Oswego State. The squad will finish out their regular season on Friday, February 16
th at 7 p.m. to battle against cross town rival Wilkes.
