Seven Personal Bests Topped at Marc Deneault Invitational

ITHACA, NY (February 17, 2024) -- Seven different Monarchs recorded personal best performances to lead the King's College women's indoor track and field team at Cornell's Marc Deneault Invitational on Saturday in Barton Hall.
 
On the Track
60 Meter Dash

Abigail Springer was the top finisher for the Monarchs, finishing 16th overall in 8.21 seconds. Juliet Brady was next to cross in a personal best time of 8.40 seconds, while Sophia Hahn recorded a personal best time of 8.45 seconds.
 
200 Meter Dash
Abigail Springer was the first to cross for King's in 27.88 seconds, while Juliet Brady finished in 28.06 seconds. Sophia Hahn rounded out the trio of Monarchs in a personal best of 28.99 seconds.
 
400 Meter Dash
Ava Butcher was the long Monarch in the event as she placed 13th overall in 1:03.72.
 
800 Meter Run
Cecilia Chipriano and Mara Ryan were the King's runners in the event, with Chipriano recording a personal best time of 2:52.05, while Ryana finished in a personal best 3:09.96.
 
Mile
King's had a pair of competitors in the event, with Cecilia Chipriano leading the duo in 6:12.91, while Mara Ryan recorded a time of 6:50.52.
 
3,000 Meter Run
Julia Johnson represented King's in the event as she finished in 11:39.19.
 
5,000 Meter Run
Zoe Tomko placed fifth overall in 20:07.21, while Mikaela Majcher took 10th in 20:44.41.
 
60 Meter Hurdles
Victoria Zultevicz posted a time of 9.88 seconds in the event.
 
In the Field
High Jump

Madison Armitage tied for sixth overall as she cleared a height of 1.50 meters in the event.
 
Long Jump
Victoria Zultevicz and Madelynn Perfilio finished back-to-back, as Zultevicz posted a mark of 4.65 meters on her final attempt, while Perfilio recorded a jump of 4.52 meters on her second try.
 
Triple Jump
Madelynn Perfilio was the lone Monarch in the event as she placed eighth with a jump of 9.85 meters on her sixth and final attempt.
 
Pole Vault
Victoria Zultevicz took sixth in the event, clearing a height of 3.15 meters, while Liz Porto recorded a mark of 2.40 meters.
 
Shot Put
Brandy Varner finished in the top 10, placing ninth with a mark of 11.82 meters on her second attempt. Delaney Hilferty was next to finish with a toss of 10.59 meters on her second try, while Sophia Lukowski  hit a personal best mark of 10.24 meters and Caitlin Kirk (10.22 meters) round out the King's throwers in the event.
 
Weight Throw
Anna Bellucci finished just outside the top 10, placing 11th with a personal best mark of 13.94 meters on her first throw. Katey Shoemaker had the next best mark, finishing 14th with a toss of 13.32 meters on her third attempt, while Rhian Crowley posted a throw of 12.09 meters on her second attempt. Delaney Hilferty rounded out the Monarch competitors with a throw of 11.04 meters on her first toss.

King's will begin their final preparations for their upcoming 2024 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships next weekend, February 23-24, at Reading University.
