Zultevicz Tops Own Record in Pole Vault at PLEX Shootout

READING, PA (February 3, 2024) – Victoria Zultevicz obliterated her previous indoor program record mark in the pole vault to highlight the King's College women's indoor track and field team's action at Alvernia's PLEX Shootout.
 
On the Track
60 Meter Dash

Juliet Brady and Sophia Hahn took second and third in their heat, respectively, as Brady posted a time of 8.52 seconds to finish 20th overall in the field of 47, while Hahn crossed in 8.68 seconds.
 
200 Meter Dash
Juliet Brady was the top Monarch finisher again in the event, recording a time of 29.05 seconds, while Sophia Hahn posted a time of 29.77 seconds.
 
400 Meter Dash
Ava Butcher placed in the top 20 out of 36 runners and won her heat, recording a personal best time of 1:04.67, while Nicole Zambetti finished in 1:07.40.
 
Mile
Zoe Tomko cracked the top 15 in the event, placing 13th overall in 5:46.91, while Cecilia Chipriano finished 20th overall and first in her heat in a personal best time of 6:05.40. Mara Ryan rounded out the trio with a personal best time of 6:49.58.
 
5000 Meter Run
Julia Johnson ran a strong race as she recorded a time of 19:58.78 to finish 14th overall, while Mikaela Majcher clocked in at 20:33.39.
 
60 Meter Hurdles
Victoria Zultevicz finished just shy of a spot in the finals, placing 10th overall and second in her heat in 10.07 seconds.
 
4x200 Meter Relay
The King's team of Juliet Brady, Sophia Hahn, Victoria Zultevicz, and Laura Dainauski finished eighth overall and second in their heat in 1:55.86.
 
4x400 Meter Relay
The Monarchs relay team of Juliet Brady, Sophia Hahn, Victoria Zultevicz, and Laura Dainauski crossed in 4:31.67 to finish eighth.
 
In the Field
High Jump

Madison Armitage placed 10th overall as she cleared a height of 1.47 meters.
 
Pole Vault
Victoria Zultevicz took sixth in the event as she cleared a new indoor program record height of 3.30 meters, surpassing her previous record of 3.05 meters from last season's Crowell Open, while Liz Porto recorded a height of 2.55 meters.
 
Long Jump
Madelynn Perfilio was the lone Monarch competitor in the event as she finished 10th with a mark of 4.85 meters on her third attempt.
 
Triple Jump
Madelynn Perfilio had another strong event in the triple jump, placing 11th overall with a jump of 9.56 meters on her second try.
 
Shot Put
Brandy Varner won the shot put yet again with a mark of 12.16 meters on her third throw, coming in at 0.30 meters farther than the second-place finisher from Division II Millersville. Delaney Hilferty was the next King's finisher with a throw of 10.15 meters with her second attempt, while Caitlin Kirk posted a mark of 9.93 meters on her first attempt. Sophia Lukowski rounded out the King's competitors with a toss of 9.57 meters with her second toss.
 
Weight Throw
Anna Bellucci finished sixth overall in the field of 29 with a toss of 13.18 meters on her fifth throw, while Rhian Crowley posted a mark of 11.78 meters with her first attempt.

The Monarchs will return to action next weekend, February 10, as they are set to compete in the Big Apple Invitational hosted by Albany University at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
