YORK, PA (February 3, 2024) -- The King's College wrestling team swept the weekend as they defeated the Spartans of York (1-17) and the Blue Jays of Johns Hopkins (2-8) Saturday afternoon. The Monarchs (5-4) defeated the Spartans 32-11 and the Blue Jays 26-22 in Charles Wolf Gymnasium.

At 125,
Patrick Horvath (So.) fell to Jacob Kresicki in a 5-3 decision.
Cole Anderson (So.) was able to tie the match as he took a 9-2 decision over Dan Barra.
Nick Germano (Jr.) at 141 maintained the momentum with a 4-1 decision win against Bryan Diaz in the 141-weight class. At 149,
Shane Kibler (So.)Â pinned Mohammed Gueddi in 1:04 to help create a cushion for the Monarchs.
MJ Turi (Fy.) at 157 lost in a 6-3 decision against Wyatt Patzke.
Alex Ballantyne (So.) suffered a 16-0 technical fall to Justice Hockenberry.
Nick Costello (Fy.) was able to win by forfeit at 174.
Connor Wrobleski (So.) pushed the edge at 184 as he won by pinfall over Luca Romasco in 2:32. At 197,
Richard Fronheiser (Jr.) bested Carson Queen in a 19-3 technical fall. In the heavy weight bout,
Bill Grace (Gr.) was pestered through three periods but ultimately took a 4-1 decision win over Derek Martin. King's won 32-11 in the first competition of the day.

Patrick Horvath (So.) at 125 and
Cole Anderson (So.) at 133 both won by forfeit to start the second match of the afternoon.
Hugh Bittenbender (So.) fell to Max Aspel in a close 4-2 decision at 141. In the 149-weight division,
MJ Turi (So.) dropped Freddy Pimental in a 5-3 decision.
Shane Kibler (So.) fell to Connor Powell in 2:16 at 157.
Bret Murphy (Jr.) battled hard in the 165-weight class but succumbed to a 17-1 technical fall loss to Jake Hoffman.
Nick Costello (Fy.) lost in a 15-0 technical fall against Chris Roybal in the 174-weight division.
Connor Wrobleski (So.) rallied the Monarchs as he pinned Samuel Gledhill in 1:49 at 184.
Richard Fronheiser (Jr.) dominated at 197 and gained an 18-1 technical fall win over Jack Dunn.
Bill Grace (Gr.) frustrated Jake Pomykata through three periods but was defeated in a 4-1 decision at heavy weight. King's celebrated a 26-22 victory.

The Monarchs participated in four exhibition matches during the York tri-meet. At 157,
Brian Hopkins (Fy.) fell in 0:50 against Fritz Maurath of Johns Hopkins.
Alex Ballantyne battled through three periods but was pinned by Johns Hopkins' Nick Hwang in 5:40 at 165. Quinn O'Callahan (Fy.) lost by pinfall to York's Joel DeFreytas in 2:12 and downed by Logan Barkey of York in 2:06 at 133. In the 141-weight class Bittenbender won in a 15-0 technical fall over York's Joel DeFreytas.

King's are back in action on Thursday, February 8
th to take on Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) opponent Delaware Valley at 7 p.m. in Doylestown. The squad will travel for a tri-meet against Scranton and Hunter at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 10
th.
