DOYLESTOWN, PA (February 8, 2024) -- Richard Fronheiser recorded a win by fall as four Monarchs collected wins in a 30-18 loss at Delaware Valley University on Thursday evening. With the setback, the King's College wrestling team dropped to 5-5 overall in their duals, while the Aggies improved to 12-5.
 
Delaware Valley (12-5) took an early lead at 125 as Patrick Horvath fell by technical fall to Malik Asfour. King's (5-5) got their first win of the match at 133 as Cole Anderson rode out a 14-5 major decision victory over Ryan Mansueto, using a strong finish to the second period to secure the win. Noah Clawson put the Monarchs ahead in the match at 141, posting a 10-4 decision over Devin Horton as he responded from a 3-1 first-period deficit to put up four points in the second and five in the third on his way to the victory.
 
The Aggies then took the next three bouts, including a 4-3 decision win by Greg Croce over MJ Turi at 149, a fall by Nicholas DeLorenzo over Shane Kibler at 157, and a fall by Adam Coleman over Xavian Ramos at 165 to see the hosts lead swell to 20-6.
 
Connor Wrobleski got the Monarchs back on the board at 174, dominating the first period to a 11-2 edge before picking up the win by medical forfeit, but the Aggies responded technical fall victory by Luke Moore over Jacob Hachtmann at 184.
 
Richard Fronheiser pulled out a great match up at 197, cruising to a 9-2 edge over Matt Mushinski before pinning the Aggie in 2:30, inching King's within 25-18, but Delaware Valley's Logan Flynn out lasted Bill Grace with a technical fall in the 285 contest as the Monarchs fell, 30-18.
 
King's will be back in action on Saturday afternoon as they travel up to Scranton for the University of Scranton Duals. The Monarchs will take on Hunter College at 11:30 a.m., the host Scranton at 1:00 p.m., and Bergen Community College at 4:00 p.m. in the duals.
