WILLIAMSPORT, PA (Mar. 16, 2024) - - King's College men's tennis picked up its first win of the season today against the Penn College Wildcats with a final score of 8-1. The Monarchs swept in doubles and only lost one singles match while at Central PA Tennis Center today. King's is now 1-6 overall this season.
Logan Gregory and
John Toussaint kicked off doubles for King's with a 8-1 win over the Wildcats.
Patrick Pech and
Aidan Temple continued the momentum winning the second doubles match 8-0.
Brendan Turowski and
Jacob Nelson wrapped up doubles for the Monarchs with an 8-4 win.
Gregory also led King's in singles winning his two of his three sets against Penn College's Kyle Schuelleer. Despite dropping his first set 5-7, he rallied for the second two winning 6-2 in the second and 10-8 in the third. Toussaint was next up for the Monarchs and won his match in two sets with scores of 6-2 and 6-1. In the three spot for King's, Pech defeated Hunter Knosky in two 6-0 and 8-0. Temple fell short in two sets as he lost to Logan Ogden 4-6 and 2-6. Turowski picked up the Monarchs' momentum again as he also won in two with scores of 6-0 and 6-3. Zheng ended the day for King's on a high note with two 6-2 wins over Penn College's John Mylin. The Monarchs ended with an overall score of 8-1 over the Wildcats.
King's takes the court next at Kirby Park on Thursday Mar. 21 against Clarks Summit University.
