WILKES-BARRE, PA (March 22, 2024) -- In their first match at Kirby Park this spring season, the King's College women's tennis team blanked the visiting Clarks Summit University, 9-0, on Friday afternoon. With the win, the Monarchs pick up their second straight and improve to 2-5 overall, while the Defenders fall to 0-1.

Singles play featured
Ashley Kenia in the No. 1 match and
Hailey D'Amato at No. 2 singles defeat their opponents by a score of 6-2 in the first and 6-0 in the second. Then the remaining singles, including
Jackie Costello at No. 3 singles,
Carlee Dellose at No. 4 singles,
Emma Rooney at No. 5 singles, and
Sarah Stettler at No. 6 singles, sweep their foes by a pair of 6-0 sets to blank Clarks Summit in singles action.

In doubles contests, Kenia and D'Amato defeated their Defenders pair, 8-1, at No. 1 doubles, while Costello and Dellose downed their opponents 8-2 at No. 2 doubles. Rooney and
Anagrace Schwartz rounded out the sweep with an 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles.

King's will be off for the Easter holiday before returning to play on Saturday, April 6 as they open their Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) schedule on the road at DeSales University.
