ORLANDO, FL (March 4, 2024) -- In their first match of their spring 2024 season, the King's College men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Trine University at the Fort Gatlin Recreation Complex on Monday morning. With the loss, the Monarchs drop to 0-2 overall, while the Thunder improved to 4-2.

In singles action,
Logan Gregory dropped sets of 6-0 and 6-2 to Trine's Sammy Yin in No. 1 singles play, while
John Toussaint fell in the No. 2 match by a pair of 6-3 decisions to Cole Goodman. The No. 3 singles match saw
Patrick Pech fall by sets of 6-1 and 6-4 to Andrew Spirrison, and
Brendan Turowski faced decisions of 6-3 and 6-1 to Elijah Schilthuis. The singles action was rounded out by
Cody Zheng at No. 5 singles with set losses of 6-1 and 6-2 to Caleb Morris, while
Zackary Bedwell was downed at No. 6 singles to Drew Dixon by a pair of 6-0 scores.

Doubles play featured Gregory and Toussaint pairing up at No. 1 doubles to fall, 8-1, while the No. 2 match with Pech and Turowski was a competitive 8-5 loss to the Thunder team. Zheng and
Alex Nole competed at No. 3 doubles before ultimately dropping an 8-1 decision.

The Monarchs will be back in action tomorrow for a two-match day, taking on Saint Mary's University (Minn.) at 7:30 a.m. at the USTA National Campus before facing Ursinus College at 4:00 p.m. at the Oak Street Park Community Center.
