ORLANDO, FL (March 5, 2024) -- The King's College men's tennis team picked up three wins in singles action in their morning match before falling 6-3 to Saint Mary's University (Minn.) and 9-0 to Ursinus College. The Monarchs drop to 0-4 in dual matches overall.

Match 1 vs. Saint Mary's (Minn.) – L, 3-6:
The Monarchs picked up all three of their wins in the match in singles action.
Logan Gregory defeated Evan Huemoeller by sets of 6-4 and 6-3 in No. 1 play, while
John Toussaint secured set one, 6-1, before battling to a 7-5 victory in the second at No. 2 singles over Brendon Raabolle.
Patrick Pech downed Tucker Stene, 6-0 and 6-4, in the No. 3 singles match.

In other singles play,
Brendan Turowski fell by sets of 6-1 and 6-2 to Caden Rodning in the No. 4 match, while
Cody Zheng dropped decisions of 6-3 and 6-2 in No. 5 play to Matt Besek. In No. 6 singles,
Zackary Bedwell lost to Phillip Apel, 6-0 and 6-1.

The No. 1 doubles match featured Gregory and Toussaint fall by an 8-4 decision, while Pech and Turowski came up just shy in an 8-7 setback at No. 2 doubles. Zeng and Bedwell rounded out the doubles action in the No. 3 contest with an 8-3 loss to Saint Mary's.

Match 2 vs. Ursinus – L, 0-9:
In doubles play, the No. 1 team of
Logan Gregory and
Patrick Pech fell, 8-3. Then both the No. 2 pair of
Brendan Turowski and
Cody Zheng and the No. 3 team of
Alex Nole and
Zackary Bedwell dropped decisions of 8-0 to the Bears.

Singles action saw Gregory fall by scores of 6-4 and 6-2 in the No. 1 match to Lars Jespersen, while Pech dropped sets of 6-3 and 6-1 to Ethan Yu at No. 2 singles. The No. 3 singles contest saw Turowski downed by a pair of 6-0 sets by Darby Rogers, and Zheng fell, 6-1 and 6-0, to Andrei Bogdan at No. 4 singles. To round out the action, both Nole and Bedwell dropped 6-0 decisions to Hunter Murray in No. 5 singles and Noah Dichter at No. 6 singles.
