Hailey D'Amato continued her strong play during the early stretch of their spring schedule as the King's College women's tennis team fell, 8-1, to Saint Mary's University (Minn.) on Wednesday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Complex. The Monarchs now stand at 0-4 overall, while the Cardinals improved to 5-5.

D'Amato earned her third win of the week in No. 2 singles play, defeating Emily Henderson by scores of 6-1 and 6-4.

In doubles action, D'Amato teamed up with
Ashley Kenia at No. 1 doubles and battled before falling, 8-7, while
Jackie Costello and
Carlee Dellose dropped a tough 8-6 final at No. 2 doubles.

Kenia fell in No. 1 singles to Natalie Peterson, 6-4 and 6-3, while Costello dropped set scores of 6-1 and 6-0 at No. 3 singles to Emily Dondelinger. Dellose put up a strong effort at No. 4 singles, falling just 7-6 in the first set before facing a 6-1 deficit in the second.
Emma Rooney had a thrilling match at No. 5 singles, winning the first set, 6-3, over Lillian Kimber, before dropping the second, 6-4, and the third, 10-3.

King's will wrap up their spring training trip tomorrow afternoon, taking on Concordia College (Minn.) at 2:30 p.m. at the USTA National Campus.
