KISSIMMEE, FL (March 7, 2024) – In their final match of their annual spring training trip, the King's College men's tennis team fell, 9-0, to Concordia University Moorehead at the Oak Street Park Community Center. The Monarchs return north 0-6 overall, while the Cobbers improved to 2-9.
Logan Gregory opened singles play in a fight with Logan Sandberg, winning the first set 6-4 before ultimately falling 6-2 and 10-3 in the next two at No. 1 singles. In the No. 2 singles match,
John Toussaint dropped a pair of 6-2 sets to Kai Pierce, while
Patrick Pech fell by scores of 6-0 and 6-3 to Isaac Maddock at No. 3 singles. The No. 4 singles match saw
Brendan Turowski downed, 6-0 and 6-1, to Kai Kringlie, while both
Cody Zheng in the No. 5 match and
Zackary Bedwell in the No. 6 match lost by a pair of 6-1 sets to their Cobber foe.
Doubles play featured Gregory and Toussaint team up in the No. 1 match before falling, 8-1, while Pech and Turowski lost by a score of 8-3 at No. 2 doubles. Zheng and
Alex Nole rounded out doubles play with an 8-2 setback at No. 3 doubles.
King's will get back to action on Saturday, March 16 as they travel to Williamsport, PA to take on Penn College at 1 p.m.
