WILLIAMSPORT, PA (April 26, 2024) -- In a tight contest, the King's College women's tennis team came out victorious, defeating the host Lycoming College, 5-4, on Friday afternoon at Bradnon Park. The Monarchs improved to 6-9 overall, while the Warriors fall to 3-13.

King's took three singles matches in the non-conference match up as
Ashley Kenia won her No. 1 singles match with sets of 6-1 and 6-2 over Emily Wolfgang, and
Hailey D'Amato defeated Emma Kelchner, 7-5 and 6-2, at No. 2 singles. At No. 4 singles,
Carlee Dellose battled back after dropping the first, 7-6 (7-5), to take the next two by matching 6-3 wins over Sarah Lanphear.

The Monarchs then captured two out of the three doubles matches as D'Amato and Kenia dominated an 8-1 contest at No. 1 doubles, while
Jackie Costello and Dellose were victorious by an 8-5 decision at No. 2 doubles.

Lycoming earned their wins at No. 3 singles as
Jackie Costello fell by scores of 6-3 and 6-1 to Rei Saar, while
Emma Rooney lost by a pair of 6-1 sets to Hiyori Iai at No. 5 singles.
Sarah Stettler rounded out singles play with setbacks of 6-0 and 6-3 at No. 6 singles to Abigail Ebel, while Rooney and
Anagrace Schwartz dropped an 8-7 (7-4) contest at No. 3 doubles.

King's returns to action tomorrow afternoon as they are set to host Stevens Institute of Technology in a MAC Freedom match. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. at Kirby Park.
