WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 9, 2024) -- On Tuesday afternoon, the King's College women's tennis team dropped their Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) home opener, 9-0, to Misericordia at Kirby Park. The Monarchs fall to 4-7 overall and 0-2 in the conference, while the Cougars improve to 8-2 and 1-1 in the standings.

In singles action,
Hailey D'Amato dropped her No. 1 singles match by a pair of 6-1 sets to Brianna Pizzano, while
Jackie Costello fell, 6-4 and 6-2, to Hailey Loughlin in the No. 2 contest.
Carlee Dellose was downed, 6-3 and 6-0 at No. 3 singles to Emily Brecker, while
Emma Rooney at No. 4 singles,
Sarah Stettler in the No. 5 match, and
Anagrace Schwartz in No. 6 play all fell by match 6-0 sets to their Cougar foes.

The doubles matches saw D'Amato and Costello at No. 1 doubles and Rooney and Schwartz at No. 3 doubles lose 8-0, while Dellose and Stetler dropped an 8-2 decision in the No. 2 doubles match.

The Monarchs will return to Kirby Park on Saturday afternoon as they are set to host Arcadia University in MAC Freedom play. Action is set to begin at 1:00 p.m., and the team will celebrate senior day as well.
