WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 29, 2024) -- In a thrilling Sunday afternoon match, the King's College men's tennis match came down to the decision at No. 2 singles, and
Cody Zheng came out on top with a victory to secure the 4-3 win for the Monarchs. King's improves to 1-0 in dual matches, while the Wildcats drop to 1-2.

In singles action,
Patrick Pech defeated Alexander Norris, 6-1 and 6-0, at No. 1 singles, while Zheng recorded his heroic victory with a 6-4 win in the first before falling 6-2 in the second to John Finnegan. He rallied, 6-2, to earn the win at No. 2 singles.
Brendan Turowski was victorious at No. 3 singles, 6-2 and 6-4, over Jayden Manbeck, while
Gavin Hall earned his first collegiate victory at No. 6 singles, 6-3 and 6-4, over Hunter Knosky.

The doubles team of Pech and Zheng picked up another important win at No. 1 doubles, 6-4, over the Wildcats.

At No. 4 singles,
Stanley Shimko dropped sets of 6-2 and 6-0 to Logan Ogden, while
Dylan Stoss fell by scores of 6-4 and 7-5 at No. 5 singles to Seth Priestman. The team of Stoss and Turowski were downed, 7-5, at No. 2 doubles, while the No. 3 doubles pair of
Jacob Nelson and
Zackary Bedwell fell, 6-4.
