King’s Falls 4-0 to Catholic, Handed First Loss of 2024 Campaign

WASHINGTON, DC (September 8, 2024) – The King's College men's soccer team fell 4-0 to Catholic University of America in their second game of the weekend at Catholic's Turk Emekli Classic. The Monarchs are now 3-1-0 overall with Catholic moving to 2-2-0 on the season.
 
The Cardinals had four different goal scorers on the afternoon, the lone goal bring in the first half from Corey Magro off an assist from Liam Giblin in minute 29. Catholic held King's to two shots through the first 45 minutes and led 1-0 at halftime.

After the break, Cardinals Owen Maher and Azaria Tewodros both scored through the first 11 minutes of play in the second half to make it 3-0.

CJ Anderson was issued a yellow card in minute 71, followed by a penalty kick goal Hayden Woodings to extend the lead to 4-0. A team yellow card was issued to Kings, along with Jackson Nuttall, in minute 84. This was the first loss of the season for the Monarchs.

King's is back in action this Saturday, September 14 as they travel to Juniata for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Henry H. and Joanie R. Gibbel Stadium.
