WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 14, 2025) -- In their final tune up ahead of the 2025 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Wrestling Championships on Saturday, the King's College wrestling team dominated Delaware Valley in a 41-8 victory on Tuesday evening. With the win in McGrane Gymnasium, the Monarchs improve to 8-3 in dual meets, while the Aggies drop to 5-11. This also marks the first victory for the Monarchs over the Aggies in the last 10 meetings dating back to 2007.

King's (8-3) got out to an early 6-0 lead as
Patrick Horvath won at 125 by forfeit. The 133 match saw
Nick Germano battle back from a 5-1 deficit after the first period to explode for 11 of his 15 points in the second period on his way to a 15-6 major decision victory over Alex Kinder.
Noah Clawson gained early control of the 141 contest, out scoring Lucas Tirpak 6-1 in the first before cruising to a 12-1 major decision win to push the Monarchs lead to 14-0 after three bouts.

In 149 action, the Monarchs got their first fall win in the match as
Shane Kibler pinned Ryan Mansueto in 1:52.
MJ Turi followed suit in the 157 match, winning by fall over Declan Smith in 2:50 as the King's advantage swelled to 26-0.

Delaware Valley (5-11) picked up their first win in the match at 165 as
Jordan Bentley dropped a 16-1 technical fall contest to Darrale Barrett.

The Monarchs got back in the win column at 174 as
Jacob Hachtmann battled through the first period but finished tied, 8-8, with Brayden Castillo. At the change of periods, Hachtmann regrouped and dominated Castillo for a fall in 4:48. At 184,
Jake Bobersky came out of the first scoreless against Aidan Murray, but a quick take down in the second and an escape and another take down in the third proved the difference in a gritty 7-2 decision win. The final King's win in the match came as
Richard Fronheiser pinned Kole Lester at 197 in 1:58.

The Aggies got back some much-needed points at 285 as Aidan Myers outlasted
Khalil Blagmon with a 4-3 decision win, but it was too little too late as King's defeated Delaware Valley, 41-8, on Tuesday evening.

The Monarchs return home on Saturday to host the 2025 MAC Wrestling Championships in McGrane Gymnasium. Action is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
