SELINSGROVE, PA (January 18, 2025) --
Katey Shoemaker led the performances by the King's College women's indoor track and field team with a first-place finish in the weight throw at the River Hawk Invitational. At Susquehanna on Saturday, the Monarchs posted 14 top-eight finishes in the meet.

On the Track
60 Meter Dash
Abigail Springer qualified for a spot in the final heat as she placed fourth in 8.28 seconds.
Sophia Hahn ran well, crossing in 8.98 seconds. Jessica Franklin from Hagerstown Community College topped the preliminary field in 8.18 seconds.

In the finals. Springer took fifth as she ran a time of 8.34 seconds. Hannah Alderfer of Susquehanna won the event in 8.07 seconds.

200 Meter Dash
Abigail Springer ran another strong race, placing eighth overall and second in her heat in 28.45 seconds, while
Sophia Hahn finished third in her heat in 30.93 seconds. Jessica Franklin of Hagerstown Community College was the top finisher in 27.21 seconds.

400 Meter Dash
Ava Butcher placed third overall and won her heat in 1:04.78. Payton Smith of the University of Pennsylvania was the top runner in 1:01.38.

Mile
Mara Ryan was the first to finish for King's, posting a personal best time of 6:46.47, while
Shelby Shepanski finished in 7:06.00. Jaime Diedel of Bloomsburg won the race in 5:30.29.

4x400 Meter Relay
The women's team of
Ava Butcher,
Julia Johnson,
Lindsey Eyer, and
Sarah Hartzell finished seventh in 4:44.16. The team from Bloomsburg won the event in 4:25.99.

Distance Medley Relay
The King's team of
Lindsey Eyer,
Sarah Hartzell,
Julia Johnson, and
Cecilia Chipriano placed third in 14:29.64. Marywood's team won the race in 14:18.88.

In the Field
High Jump
Madison Armitage led a pair of Monarchs as she placed fourth with a height of 1.53 meters while Abigail Thompson cleared the 1.43 meter mark. Casey Gish from the University of Pennsylvania was the top finisher with a height of 1.68 meters.

Long Jump
Victoria Zultevicz finished eighth overall as she recorded a mark of 4.63 meters on her fourth attempt. Aria Messner was the top finisher with a jump of 5.59 meters.

Pole Vault
Victoria Zultevicz placed third overall as she cleared a height of 3.20 meters. Bloomsburg's Coral Shivok was the top finisher as she cleared the 3.35 meter mark.

Shot Put
Brandy Varner led a group of Monarchs as she placed second overall with a throw of 11.63 meters on her third attempt. Cailtin Kirk was next to place, taking seventh with an indoor personal best toss of 10.59 meters on her third try, while
Delaney Hilferty finished ninth with a mark of 10.49 meters on her first toss.
Roni McClelland rounded out the crew with a throw of 10.10 meters on her second attempt. Rosalyn Paige of Marywood won the event with a throw of 12.18 meters.

Weight Throw
Katey Shoemaker won the event out of 34 throwers with a mark of 14.91 meters on her third throw of the day.
Caitlin Kirk took third overall with a throw of 13.68 meters on her first toss, and
Brandy Varner placed fifth with a mark of 13.25 meters on her third throw.
Delaney Hilferty rounded out the group in seventh with a toss of 13.14 meters on her third throw.
