Dahl Notches 44 Saves in Narrow Loss to Arcadia

PITTSTON, PA (January 24, 2025) – The King's College women's ice hockey team fell 3-2 to the Arcadia University Knights on Friday night at the Revolution Ice Centre. With the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) loss, the Monarchs move to 4-9-3, 4-6-3 in conference play while the Knights improve to 13-3-1, 11-2-0.

Senior goaltender Syd Dahl tallied 20 saves in the first 20 minutes of play and Aspen Wallen was penalized for boarding at 14:34, but the Monarchs were able to kill the power play and head into the first intermission scoreless.

Kait Wolf began the second period in the penalty box after being called for tripping 20 seconds in. The Knights got the scoring going with two quick goals, Bridgit Terry with the first one at 6:53 and Ariel Williamson at 7:54 with assists from Abbi Komrofske and Karahkwenhawe White. Maeve Hourihan was called for interference at 10:04 and Komrofske and Sammi Stead both received roughing penalties at 18:23. The Monarchs closed out the period with a goal from Lucy Beal at 19:14 off assists from Dahl and Abby Barlocker. The Knights led 2-1 going into the third period.

Maddie Vaughan tied the game at 2-2 with a goal at 6:07 off assists from Sammi Stead and Amanda Sokol. Carys Jelley was penalized for body checking at 8:16. The Knights put the icing on the cake with a goal at 11:19 from Brooklyn Hendrickson off an assist from Leah Hatcher. The Monarchs were unable to answer back and the 3-2 score stood in favor of the Knights as time expired. Brenna Munn posted three blocks and Dahl tallied 44 total saves in net.

The Monarchs are back at the Revolution Ice Centre tomorrow, January 25 for a 12:15 p.m. rematch with the Knights.
