Women's Swimming Fall to Lycoming on Friday Night

WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 24, 2025) -- The King's College women's swim team took on the Lycoming Warriors in the Scandlon Natatorium on Senior Night. The Monarchs fell to the Warriors 90-57 on Friday evening.
 
Makenna Unvarsky was the lone competitor in the 1000-yard freestyle and finished with a time of 13:51.98. In the 200-yard freestyle, Mackenzie Huffer took second place at 2:14.10 and Lexi Nastanski rounded the group at 3:32.01. Esmeralda Romero earned a first place finish in the 50-yard freestyle at 31.34 and Nastanski was right behind at 41.33. Huffer also swam in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 29.48. In the 200-yard IM, Unvarsky clocked in at 2:45.54 to take first place.
 
Romero took second place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:12.39 and Nastanski took third at 1:35.39. In the 100-yard backstroke, Huffer finished second at 1:15.53 and Romero came in at 1:29.74. Huffer battled in the 500-yard freestyle and clocked in at 6:26.10. In the last individual event, Unvarsky entered the 100-yard breaststroke and finished at 1:23.91.
 
In the team events, the King's relay team that consisted of Romero, Unvarsky, Nastanski, and Huffer completed the 200-yard relay in 2:10.25
 
The Monarchs will have a quick turnaround as they will be on the road to take on Moravian at 1 p.m. tomorrow, January 25th to complete their regular season. The Middle Atlantic Conference Championships are scheduled for February 13th-16th at Messiah.
