MORRISTOWN, NJ (January 29, 2025) -- The King's College men's volleyball team dropped Saint Elizabeth University 3-0 on Wednesday evening in St. Joseph's Hall.

The score went back-and-forth to start the first set, but at 3-4 the Monarchs (2-3) broke away with a 12-2 jump that included tallies by
Greg Bousquet,
Gavin Gilhool,
Ben Maskiell,
Logan Place, and
Rich Alvarez. The Monarchs continued their momentum as the Eagles (1-4) pestered the visitors. It was 22-12 when Saint Elizabeth made one last 5-1 burst before King's collected back-to-back kills by Gilhool and
Luke Hammond to take the first set 25-17.

The Monarchs remained resilient and had a 16-8 start of the second set thanks to kills by Bousquet, Place,
Logan Aikens,
Logan Dougherty, and Maskiell. The Eagles would look to chip away at their deficit, but King's had every answer. King's made a lasting 5-2 run to remain victorious, 25-17.

The Monarchs continued their assault by opening the third and final set with a 6-1 lead. Every two points made by Saint Elizabeth, King's responded with their own two to cut into their host's run. The Eagles revolted against the visitors with a 5-2 jolt to get within four of the Monarchs. Though the King's made one final kill by Bousquet to win 25-20.

The Monarchs ended with 35 kills, 24 assists, six aces, three blocks, 24 digs, and a hitting percentage of .388. Bousquet led the team with 12 kills and earned a hitting percentage of .435. Dougherty followed with his own nine kills, five digs, and a hitting percentage of .583. Maskiell collected 30 assists for the night.
Aiden Glasgow sparked the defense with seven digs.

Saint Elizabeth finished with 33 kills, 33 assists, four aces, four blocks, and 20 digs. Kodi Peters produced 10 kills, six digs, and a hitting percentage of .438. Jonathan Mundaray also had 10 kills with five digs. Diego Rondon dished out 24 helpers. Jerry Chablay earned five digs.

King's are back on the road for a Saturday tri-match against Manhattanville and Russell Sage on February 1
st at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The squad will continue their road matches on Wednesday, February 5
th at 6 p.m. to take on Penn State Schuylkill.
