PITTSTON, PA (January 31, 2025) – The King's College women's ice hockey team fell to the Mustangs of Stevenson University 2-1 on Friday night at the Revolution Ice Centre. With the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) loss, the Monarchs move to 4-11-3, 4-8-3 in conference play while the Mustangs improve to 6-11-1, 4-9-1. An assist in tonight's game made junior forward

Midway through the first period,
Sammi Stead was sent to the box for body checking. Stevenson's Megan Swick rounded out the last minute of play with a goal, assisted by Jalyn Jones, to put the Mustangs ahead 1-0 going into the first intermission.
Franki Cappello extended the lead to 2-0 at 8:32 in the second period with an assist from Kendall Girnt. Emma DeMann was penalized for holding at 9:27, resulting in a power play goal for
Aspen Wallin with assists from
Lucy Beal and Sokol. This was Sokol's 13
th assist of the season to give her 10 goals and 23 assists for 33 career points as a Monarch to set a new program record.
Five penalties were issued in the third period, including one on the Monarchs for having too many players on the ice and the final four on Stevenson, but none resulting in power play goals. The 2-1 score stood as time expired.
The Monarchs return to the Revolution Ice Centre tomorrow, February 1 for a 3 p.m. puck drop with the Hood College Blazers where they will also celebrate senior day.
