Women’s Ice Hockey Snags Senior Day Win Over Hood College

PITTSTON, PA (February 1, 2025) – The King's College women's ice hockey team secured a 3-2 win over the Hood College Blazers on Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at the Revolution Ice Centre. With the win in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), the Monarchs move to 5-11-3, 5-8-3 in conference play while the Blazers drop 4-15-1, 2-13-1. Becca Allen, Emma Besa, Syd Dahl, Tessa Deemer, Brighton Wallin, Kait Wolf, Ani Quindipan, Kiana Dizon and Jordan Dittmar were honored prior to puck drop for Senior Day.

The Blazers got on the board first with a goal from Olivia Sharkoski at 16:05 in the first period off an assist from Ella Bynan. They kept the 1-0 lead going into the first intermission.

Lucy Beal scored an unassisted goal at 6:40 in the second to tie the game at 1-1. Three minutes later, Amanda Sokol, the newest program leader in career points, posted her first goal of the season with an assist from Quindipan. Reece Gall tied the game back up at 2-2 at 13:49 of assists from Astrid Wilbur and Renata Petrella.

After Lillian Scardicchio was penalized for cross checking at 11:22, Abby Barlocker sealed the deal with a power play goal at 12:09 with assists from Wolf and Dittmar. Quindipan finished the afternoon with three out of 12 team blocks.

The Monarchs return to action next Friday as they travel to Reading, PA for a 6 p.m. matchup with the Alvernia University Golden Wolves.
