Field Hockey Blanked at #8 Stevens

HOBOKEN, NJ (October 18, 2025) - The King's College field hockey team dropped a MAC Freedom match on the road Saturday afternoon, falling to Stevens Institute of Technology by a 5-0 final. With the result, the Monarchs move to 1-13 overall and 0-3 in conference play.

The Ducks struck quickly as Gabi Moroney tallied the opening goal just 1:35 into the contest off a feed from Sophia Cozza to make it 1-0. Moroney found the back of the cage again at 10:20, assisted by Emilia Lopes, to double the Stevens lead after the first quarter.

In the second, Moroney completed her hat trick at 27:16 on another setup from Cozza to extend the advantage to 3-0 heading into halftime.

Stevens continued its offensive rhythm in the third as Brooke Hughes scored at 36:12 off assists from Moroney and Lauren Flynn before Jess Kopernick added the fifth goal at 42:21, assisted by Taylor Brooks, to close out the scoring.

King's was limited to two total shots in the game with Megan Harry and Hannah Chocallo each registering one attempt. Goalkeeper Emily Bollinger posted 10 saves in the cage while facing 16 shots on goal from Stevens.

King's will look to rebound on Wednesday, October 22, when they host Delaware Valley in another MAC Freedom matchup at 4:00 PM at McCarthy Stadium.
