WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 18, 2025) -- In their final dual match of the fall season, the King's College women's tennis team returned to Kirby Park for their MAC Freedom opener on Saturday afternoon, falling to Stevens Institute of Technology by a final score of 7-0. With the result, the Monarchs dropped to 0-2 in the fall season while the Ducks improved to 2-0.
Despite the overall result, the Monarchs showed competitive spirit in doubles play. The No. 1 pairing of
Kiki Nweje and
Carlee Dellose battled hard, picking up a game in their match against the Ducks top duo before falling, 6-1. At No. 2 doubles,
Betsy Allen and
Kimberly Dinh dropped a 6-0 decision, while
Madeline Sirianni and
Miley Caetano suffered a 6-0 loss to round out doubles action.
King's faced a strong Stevens lineup in singles play. Nweje fell 8-0 in No. 1 singles while Dellose and Dinh dropped their No. 2 and No. 3 matches by the same scores.
Allen earned a hard-fought game at No. 4 singles before ultimately falling 8-1.
Allison Van Pelt and Sirianni were both blanked at fifth and sixth singles to round out the match.Â
Members of the King's team will wrap up the fall slate by competing in the Wilkes Doubles Invitational, tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
