GLENSIDE, PA (October 25, 2025) – The King's College field hockey team was defeated by Arcadia, 1-0, in a MAC Freedom contest, as a late fourth-quarter goal in the 56
th minute sealed the win for the Knights. With the result, the Monarchs now stand at 1-16 and 0-6 in conference play while the Knights move to 4-13 overall and 2-4 in the MAC Freedom.
Davina Krappa registered the lone shot on goal in the first half but was unable to find the back of the cage as the Knights keeper stepped in to make a save.
In net, Emily Bolinger recorded a save in the 27
th minute to keep the contest knotted at 0-0 entering the halftime break.
The Monarchs created several scoring chances in the third quarter but were unable to find the back of the cage. In the 36
th,
Ella Hughes fired a shot on goal that was saved, and
Megan Harry followed up with another attempt that went wide. A few minutes later, in the 39th,
Katey Shoemaker broke through the defense for a shot that was blocked by an Arcadia defender.
Melanie Tlatenchi added one more opportunity in the 44
th minute, but her shot missed just wide of the cage.
The Monarchs were held shotless in the fourth as the Knights broke the tie in the 56
th minute on a penalty corner and held on to secure the 1-0 victory.
Both the Monarchs and the Knights each took five shots on the night with two on goal while Arcadia held a 5-3 advantage in penalty corners.
Krappa and Hughes led the offense on Wednesday with a shot on goal while Shoemaker, Harry and Tlatenchi each added a shot. Bollinger recorded one save in her 60 minutes of action.
King's field hockey returns to action on Saturday, October 1, as the Monarchs close out the regular season in Annville, PA taking on Lebanon Valley College at 1:00 PM.
