SCRANTON, PA (October 7, 2025) -- The King's College women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision in its first dual match of the fall season to Marywood on the road, Tuesday afternoon. The Monarchs opened the season at 0-1, while the Pacers improved to 5-0.
Carlee Dellose and
Kiki Nweje put up strong efforts at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Both players battled to 6-4 losses in the first set before falling to Kylie Kilgore and Alexandra Vitale, 4-2 and 6-2, respectively.
At No. 3 singles,
Betsy Allen dropped consecutive 6-0 sets to Avianna Santarelli.
Kimberly Dinh fell in straight sets against Catarina English, 6-0 and 6-0, at the fourth flight.
Allison Van Pelt secured two points in the first set of her No. 5 singles match with Hanna Adonizio, ultimately losing 6-2 and 2-0.
Miley Caetano wrapped up singles play with a pair of 6-0 defeats to Hannah Brownlee at court 6.
In No. 1 doubles action, Dellose and Nweje edged Marywood's Kilgore/Vitale pairing with a 6-4 decision.
The No. 2 pair of Allen and Dinh suffered a 6-0 setback to Adonizio/English while Van Pelt and
Miley Caetano fell to Abigail Mach and Bronlee, 6-1 at No. 3 doubles.
The Monarchs return home to Kirby Park for their MAC Freedom opener against Stevens, next Saturday at 3:00 PM.
