Women's Soccer Falls to Arcadia in Season Finale

WILKES-BARRE, PA (November 1, 2025) -- The King's College women's soccer team closed out their regular season with a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Arcadia University in a MAC Freedom matchup at McCarthy Stadium, Saturday evening. With the loss, the Monarchs finish the regular season at 5-11-2 overall and 1-5-1 in conference play. The Knights improve to 11-3-3 and 4-2-1 in the MAC Freedom.

King's goalkeeper Ashlyn Crawford set the tone early with a pair of key saves in the first half, denying bids by Arcadia in the 11th and 28th minutes to keep the Monarchs within reach. The Knights finally broke through late in the first frame, scoring at 33:55 to take a 1-0 lead.

Arcadia continued their offensive pressure and created another high-danger scoring chance with five minutes to go. After a shot rang off the left post and dribbled into open space in the crease, Abby Holloway dove to the goal line to keep the second-chance opportunity out of the net.

As time dwindled in the first half, Mackenzie Huffer sent a ball on goal from long-range, sailing to the upper right corner of the net before getting punched out by the Knights' keeper. Heading into halftime, Arcadia held a 1-0 advantage.

Crawford was tested right away in the second half, making three saves in quick succession to keep the Monarchs within striking distance. Despite her efforts, Arcadia notched a goal in the 51st minute to double their lead.

The Knights tacked on a pair of goals in the 65th and 68th minutes, growing the lead to 4-0.

King's earned four corner kicks, including a promising opportunity in the 84th minute that led to a shot from Isabel Carrozza, sailing just wide. Jenna Waldbillig also came close in the 88th minute, striking the woodwork with a well-placed effort.

Bauer made a late attempt in the 89th minute, but was turned away by Arcadia's keeper, who sealed the Knight's 4-0 win and finished with three saves.

Despite the result, the Monarchs showed resilience throughout the match, particularly in goal, where Crawford's performance stood out against a relentless Arcadia attack that tallied 34 shots and 15 on target.
