READING, PA (November 15, 2025) -- The King's College women's ice hockey team dropped a 7-0 decision to Alvernia University in the team's second road Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) game of the season, Friday evening at the Body Zone Sports and Wellness Complex. The Monarchs fall to 0-6-0 overall and 0-4-0 in conference play, while the Golden Wolves improve to 5-1-0 and 4-0-0 in the MAC.
Alvernia opened the scoring 35 seconds into the game before adding another with just under 2 minutes left. The Monarchs faced heavy pressure early, as goaltender
Hayley Packer made 12 saves on 14 shots faced. King's offense came from
Abby Barlocker,
Sammi Stead, and
Alexis Jones who each recorded a shot.
The Golden Wolves added three more goals in the second period to extend their lead to 5-0. King's generated chances from
Amanda Sokol, Victoria Fleury-Wright, Stead, Riley Kumrow, Nina Anzalone, and
Brenna Munn, while Packer made 9 saves in the period.
Alvernia scored two more times in the third period to seal the final margin. The Monarchs pushed for an offensive breakthrough with shots from
Stead, Kumrow, and
Jerrett Tietz, but could not find the twine.
Amanda Sokol led the offense with a pair of shots. Barlocker and
Eva Goner each blocked two shots while
Maddie Vaughan won five draws at the dot. Defensively, the Monarchs recorded six blocked shots.
Packer finished with 21 saves before
Mylei Chowdhry entered in relief, adding nine stops in the final period
King's returns to action Friday evening when they take on Neumann University at home. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m.
