Lycoming jumped ahead early as King's missed their first six shots from the field, taking a 7-0 lead before a tough
Ray Gooley layup put King's on the board and stopped the run with 15:50 in the first. The Warriors kept up the pace, extending their lead to 11 points after hitting three-pointers on three consecutive possessions and forcing the Monarchs to call a timeout at 13:13.
Lycoming pushed their advantage to 18 with a 15–7 stretch early in the first half.
Jaden Hall then found
Devin Kimmick for a layup to trim the margin to 16 before the Warriors called timeout at 8:58. King's carried that momentum forward, answering with a 17–6 run highlighted by five points from Gooley.
Darren Yost capped the surge with a three that cut the deficit to seven and forced Lycoming to burn another timeout with just under four minutes left in the half.
Both teams traded baskets over the next three minutes and change as Lycoming took a 46-38 lead into the locker room. Gooley led the Monarchs in the first half with ten points on 4-of-7 from the floor while Kimmick added eight points and seven rebounds in the opening frame.
As the second half moved on, both teams continued to search for momentum as they went basket for basket. Lycoming scored on the ensuing possession to give themselves a 15-point lead with 13:40 remaining.
